Our team
Jordan Cassoff, the founder of Mama Matters, was first inspired by her own challenges being a new mom with a full-time job. Her husband, a boat captain, is frequently away, thus leaving Jordan to juggle work, childcare, transportation, meal preparation, and two four legged friends on her own. As she navigated much of this alone, she couldn’t help but wonder how new moms found the time! Initially it started out with basic questions- when will I find time to wash my hair?? However, having an extensive background in public health and customer relations, she began to expand her thinking. How do new moms identify access to resources such as employment services, affordable child care, and furthermore, how do they take care of themselves when they are devoting so much of their time and energy to their children? She began to envision the foundations of Mama Matters. A non-profit that was solely devoted to providing support and resources to mothers in need. Unfortunately, in March of 2018, Jordan’s younger brother Mike lost his battle with substance abuse. It is in honor of his memory that she hopes to further extend the services of Mama Matters to mothers that also have fought their own wars with addiction.
